MASON COUNTY — Some rural post offices in Mason County are getting a reprieve from closure though not without some possible changes to those post offices.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has proposed a plan that will save rural post offices from possible closure and save $500 million a year.
According to Cathy Yarosky, spokesperson for the USPS, the agency will likely begin an evaluation of how to move forward with this this new plan, likely after Labor Day this year, with the process being completed by September 2014.
