ASHTON — A phenomenal group.

That’s how school officials described the Class of 2009 at Hannan High School, whose members have closed one chapter of their lives and eagerly look forward to the next.

Family members, friends and faculty were on hand to watch as 42 seniors received their diplomas Thursday during the school’s 80th commencement exercise. For Valedictorian Kali Edmunds, the evening was just one more memory added to the several she has accumulated in the past 12 years.

“We’ll never forget the memories and lessons we’ve learned here,” Edmunds said during her valedictory address. “We are sure to succeed both individually and as a class.”

Salutatorian Kalah Perry echoed those sentiments, referring to Thursday’s event as a milestone in their lives.
